During Lucene Eurocon 2011 in Barcelona, a number of us from different search companies met and discussed data conditioning and pipelining (ways to obtain, transform and process data before it is indexed by a search engine). We've started this group to bring these people together on-line and we hope to have physical meetups occasionally as well, at other search-related events.
